Biographical Note

Purpose

Informing in a timely and true manner, within and outside the Institution, about the diversity in academic, scientific, and cultural lifestyles at UAM. This also includes social responsibility, its professors, researchers, students, and graduates’ achievements, policies and actions on teaching, research, technological development, sustainability, gender equity, and especially gender violence eradication.

Assignment

The Social Communication Office’s (DCS, in Spanish) priority is to develop strategies to visualize and position “Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana’s” work, and to disseminate to the university community as well as to the general public its main functions: teaching, research and culture agendas.

Perspective

Consolidating institutional communication as a tool to keep university community and society in general informed about UAM’s activities as well as to identify and give course to problems, to reach agreement, to solve conflicts, and to position the university as a high-quality institution. Furthermore, to improve university communication based on the responsible, creative, and assertive use of The Internet and the social networks to generate a direct connection with the students and the university community in general, and to achieve an institutional sense of belonging.

Purpose

Disseminating UAM’s different agendas to the public opinion and the university community emphasizing institutional activities by generating relevant, clear, and objective informative contents -texts, graphics and photographs- which are elaborated professionally to guarantee understanding from the recipients.

Informing university community and society in general about university activities on research, teaching, and culture by planning, coordinating, and supervising informed, scientific, aesthetic and analytic radio productions that promote collaboration with other university, cultural, and society radios as well as strategies development to assure uninterrupted broadcasting by UAM Radio 94.1 FM according to current policies.
